With year-round sunshine, every day is a beach day. Orlando is relatively close to many beautiful beaches, with some just an hour away by car. Or head to Cocoa Beach with its soft white sand and crystal-clear waters.

Kennedy Space centre is a must-visit. We were even lucky enough to watch a rocket launch, which was incredible.
The Kissimmee area is a great location for access to some of the most popular theme parks and is also close to many of our self-catering apartments. To enjoy as many rides as possible, beat the park queues with a fast pass, which you can book in advance. You can also get multi-activity tickets to use in different places.
I’d also recommend a trip to some of the natural springs, including Blue Spring State Park, De Leon Springs State Park, and Wekiwa Springs State Park, which are all an hour or less from central Orlando.”
Orlando International Airport is the main airport and is close to a variety of our self-catering Orlando apartments. There’s also Orlando Sanford International Airport which is smaller but still offers international flights.
If you want to sightsee before you get to Orlando, you could fly into Miami International Airport, which is a four-hour drive away, and spend a few nights there to extend your trip.
Beat the crowds and enjoy slightly cooler weather by booking to stay in our Orlando holiday apartments in mid-September to early November, with temperatures averaging 23 degrees. If you don’t mind slightly warmer temperatures, then February to April is also an ideal time to visit. Orlando has a subtropical climate, and with it come thunderstorms, which tend to start around mid-June.
Held from August to November, the annual Food and Drink festival is the perfect way to develop your culinary skills. Watch live celebrity chef demonstrations or get hands-on in workshops.
The theme parks also host annual events and celebrations – so be sure to do your research ahead of time. If you’re a fan of motorbike racing, the Daytona 200 takes places in early spring at the Daytona International Speedway at Daytona Beach. You can also make your trip memorable with a behind-the-scenes tour of the stadium.
